Key Responsibilities (Terms of Reference):

Policy & Planning:
-
Develop short, medium, and long-term energy sector plans/policies in consultation with stakeholders.
-
Prepare energy demand-supply projections to ensure energy security.

Design implementation plans for energy sector reforms.

Advisory Role:
-
Provide evidence-based recommendations to resolve energy sector challenges.
-
Promote innovation and technological interventions for sustainable and affordable energy.

Project Oversight:
-
Technically appraise, monitor, and evaluate energy sector projects/programs.

Guide implementing agencies on prioritization, regulations, and investment strategies.
-

Coordination & Collaboration:
-
Liaise with development partners to align Pakistan-specific strategies.

Participate in CDWP and ECNEC meetings to facilitate project approvals.

Additional Duties:

Perform tasks assigned by the Prime Minister, Minister for Planning, or Secretary PD&SI.

Education & Experience:

Option 1:

Ph.D. in Petroleum Geology, Geology (specialization in Coal/Gas Resources), Chemical/Energy/Mechanical/Materials/Electrical (Power)/Mining Engineering.

14 years of professional experience, including 5–8 years in managerial/policy-making roles.

Master’s degree in the above fields.

Additional Requirements:

Proven expertise in energy sector reforms, policy design, and digital infrastructure.

Age Limit: Maximum 62 years by the application deadline.
Terms & Conditions:

Tenure: Initial 2-year contract, extendable annually up to 4 years based on performance.

Pay Scale: SPPS-I (Applicants from government service must resign/retire before joining).
